Italy’s Best

My wife and I took a trip to Italy with Cosmos on the ‘Italy’s Best’ tour. We spent two weeks there and visited Rome, Florence, Milan, Lake Maggiore, Lugano, Venice, Assisi, Sorrento and Capri. Today, I’m sharing with you my favorite memories (and photos) of our trip!

Some of our most memorable experiences include visiting the Colosseum in the morning and having it all to ourselves.

Venice was as beautiful as we imagined and was such a unique place. We learned so much about the culture, with an authentic Venetian glassblower demonstration, and we didn’t want to miss out on the gondola trip! We glided through the picturesque canals.

Pompeii was our coolest included sightseeing. It was really interesting to see a city frozen in time that dated back 2000 years ago.

Last but not least was the island of Capri, which was absolutely stunning! We spent an entire day on the island and took a chairlift up to Anacapri, the highest point of the island, where we had picturesque views of the island and the Bay of Naples.

The sights were amazing but the food may have been the best part. The wine was sensational and so were the pizza and pasta dishes. Virtually all of the wine there is really inexpensive and even table wine was silky smooth. I think we ate pizza at least once every day. Every region has their own take on pizza; Rome was different from the North and the South claims to have the best. Sorrento was the farthest south we went but we actually thought our best pizza was in Lake Maggiore. All in all we had a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to go back.
